The Dallas Cowboys have a halftime show every time they play on Thanksgiving. Some years, NFL fans complain about it and say it’s a waste of time. That wasn’t the case this year.

Country music singer Lainey Wilson performed live for Cowboys fans in Arlington, Texas. Towards the end of her show, she brought out Jelly Roll so they could perform their hit duet “Save Me.” That turned out to be a crowd-pleasing move. On Friday night, she shared a few photos from her halftime show along with a heartfelt message for those who supported her.

“Couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of such a special tradition. Thank you to the Salvation Army for having me perform at the Red Kettle Kickoff during the Dallas Cowboys halftime show,” Wilson wrote. “Shoutout to my brother, @JellyRoll615, for joining me for a surprise performance, love sharing the stage with you. Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.”

Suffice to say, Wilson enjoyed her time at Jerry’s World.

The Cowboys knew Wilson would light up the crowd with her performance on Thanksgiving. That’s why they wanted her at AT&T Stadium.

“She is one of the best performers that I have ever seen live and in person, and probably even more important than that, she has such a beautiful heart,” Charlotte Jones said. “And I think this performance on Thanksgiving is about both. It’s about huge entertainment. It’s about excitement. It’s about a huge audience but it’s about capturing that audience and giving them heart so that they feel the passion and the cause and the purpose of why we are doing this, and that’s for the Salvation Army and inspire people to give.”
